Q: Do I need any experience to start?
A: Not at all! Our Foundations Program is designed specifically for beginners. You’ll learn the essential movements, positions, and techniques at your own pace with supportive instruction.

Q: What should I bring to my first class?
A: Comfortable athletic clothing, a water bottle, and a good attitude! If you don’t have a gi (uniform) yet, we’ll help you with loaner options or guide you on what to buy after your first class.

Q: Do I need to be in shape before starting?
A: Nope. Jiu Jitsu gets you in shape. Classes are scalable to all fitness levels, and our coaches help you build strength, flexibility, and endurance over time.

Kids Program Questions

Q: What ages can join the kids’ classes?
A: We offer classes for children ages 4–13, divided into three groups:

  • Stronghold Cubs (4–6 yrs) – Building coordination and confidence through fun drills.

  • Stronghold Warriors (7–9 yrs) – Learning structure, discipline, and teamwork.

  • Stronghold Guardians (10–13 yrs) – Developing real self-defense skills and leadership.

Q: How does Jiu Jitsu benefit kids?
A: Kids develop confidence, respect, focus, and discipline — all while learning how to defend themselves safely and responsibly.

Q: Is Jiu Jitsu safe for children?
A: Yes! Safety and control are top priorities. Classes are supervised closely, and techniques are taught gradually with age-appropriate contact.

Training & Membership

Q: How often should I train?
A: For beginners, 2–3 classes per week is a great starting point. As you progress, you can add more sessions depending on your goals and schedule.

Q: Do you offer open mat sessions?
A: Yes! Open mats are a great time to practice techniques, roll with teammates, and build community. They’re open to all active members.

Women’s Classes

Q: Do you offer women’s-only classes?
A: We are building a women’s training community and plan to offer dedicated sessions soon. All classes are respectful and inclusive.
